We have covered hundreds of different kinds of cannabis edibles, but few can be made in advance and reheated to absolute perfection with a quick pop into a microwave or toaster. Simple breakfast ideas are worth their weight in gold and can help you to eat better while maintaining a fast-paced lifestyle that is necessary for success, but the best part about this easy pancake recipe is that it comes infused with a potent dose of cannabis cooking oil, and since they are so light and flaky, they are actually better tasting after being frozen and reheated when you are in need of a quick bite to eat.
Preparation time: 5 minutes
Cooking time: 10 minutes
Calories per serving: 20
Servings: 4 pancakes
- 2 eggs
- 2 cups of flour
- 2 cups white milk
- 4 tablespoons cannabis-infused cooking oil
- 4 tablespoons white granulated sugar
- 2 tablespoons baking powder
- 1 teaspoon salt
- Cooking spray
- Ziploc freezer baggies or some other freezer-safe container)
- Parchment paper
- Frying pan
- Mixing bowl
Add the eggs, white milk, and cannabis cooking oil, to a large mixing bowl and whisk these ingredients together until they are thoroughly combined.
Now, pour the sugar, baking powder, and salt into the liquid ingredients and whisk them until the mixture is smooth.
Slowly add in the flour, a small amount at a time, while using a whisk to mix everything together until it reaches a smooth, lump-free consistency.
Spray a frying pan with cooking oil and set it on a burner at medium heat, or for an extra-potent kick, use cannabutter to coat it instead. This small change alone can nearly double the expected potency, so it is not recommended for first-time edibles consumers.
Once the oil begins to sizzle, use a ladle to drop small portions of the pancake batter evenly scattered across the pan.
These small disc pancakes should take no more than a minute or two per side to cook, so be sure to flip them as soon as you notice a golden edge begin to form on them.
Once the pancakes are done, scoop them out of the pan with a spatula and set them on a plate to cool down.
When the pancakes reach room temperature, it is safe to start the process of freezing them. To do this you will need freezer-safe Ziploc baggies or container, and parchment paper to place between each pancake so that they don’t stick together as they harden.
Pack the pancakes into the bags along with parchment paper, and once they are full, ensure that the seal is complete, then toss them into the freezer.
You now have a couple of days breakfast, ready to go pancakes. To reheat them, simply pop them into the toaster for 30-40 seconds, or into a microwave on high for 10 seconds each. Anytime you find yourself craving some delicious edibles for breakfast, they will be ready and waiting.
This easy pancake recipe might look like it makes a whole lot, but the reality is that each batch contains 4 servings. As long as you stick to one serving per person every 2 hours or more, you should be able to safely enjoy these delicious edibles by yourself, or with a couple of friends, without having to worry about effects that are uncomfortably intense.
How long do edibles take to kick in?
The cannabinoids in edibles are not absorbed into the lungs like they are when you smoke a joint, which is why the way that they impact consumers is so vastly different. It takes anywhere from 30 minutes to 2 hours for something you eat to make it to your stomach, and for 2 hours for the effects from edibles to kick in.
How long will the effects of edibles last for?
Once those edibles begin to kick in, one of the first things you will probably wonder is how long they will last for, especially if they start to produce unenjoyable effects. When you smoke a joint, the effects are short-lived, lasting only an hour or two, but edibles are a different breed that can continue to produce a euphoric and intoxicating effect for up to 12 hours after consumption.
