Unfortunately, it’s becoming increasingly common for artists to bite off each other’s sounds and get passes for being unoriginal. But on the other hand, others struggle to differentiate themselves too much, failing to achieve broad appeal.
LA’s Indica has found the sweet spot, pulling from familiar sounds in popular music while sprinkling on a mysterious elegance of his own.
Now he’s giving one of his older records, “Omi Omy” a proper re-release. Dark, relaxed, and addictive, it’s crafted to pique our interests while staying easily digestible to our 2016 palettes.
Stacked with similarly effortless mumble raps and unfussy hooks, the 19-year-old’s self-titled summer album was clean and refreshingly unpretentious. It featured a variety of rising producers like Jack Larsen and ryanjacob.

Flashback to the year 2015 and Flint Hill School senior Cameron Vaughn was lighting up the football fields and headlines too as a promising Running Back. In fact, his game was so awesome, he was selected to play in the televised Offense-Defense All-American Bowl, a premiere All-Star football game showcasing the nation’s top high school senior players during the coveted Citrus Bowl in Orlando, Florida.

In fact, his huge movement, built on mesmerizing, tell-tale music releases, innovative videos and eye popping performances, has catapulted him to the mainstream and a spot on the big stage! This weekend, Saturday, August 26, Indica is set to open for nationally renowned R&B artist August Alsina at the popular House of Blues in Anaheim, California during his “Don’t Matter Tour.” This is an amazing opportunity for an artist so new to the industry.
Indica is fresh off the heels of several summer blazing music releases. At the top of this week, the Los Angeles based rapper dropped “Narrow,” which has spawned a social media frenzy. Just as hot are his recent singles and videos for “Chop Top” and “Omi Omy” — which inundate the playlists of diehard rap fans and DJs. There’s such a buzz for Indica thatPigeons and Planes magazine (Complex) heralded him as one of Soundcloud’s Top Ten Artists of 2017.
