🚀 How to Make Marijuana Cookies Step-by-Step

As I’ve already told you, making marijuana cookies is very simple and you don’t need more than 30 minutes to prepare them (depending on your cooking skills). But let’s get to the important thing, the steps to make marijuana cookies:

Step 1: In a saucepan, put the butter to melt and when it is ready, add the marijuana previously grinded and decarboxylated. Put it on a low flame so it doesn’t burn.

put the butter to melt

You may also find marijuana butter for sale in your favourite marijuana dispensary.

Step 2: When the butter is ready, or we have melted the purchased marijuana butter, strain it into a bowl.

we filter the mixture

Step 3: Add sugar and eggs and beat well. While stirring, add the flour. If you want and to avoid lumps, you can pass the blender for a moment. Once we have a compact dough left, it’s time to add the extra ingredients we talked about before (chocolate, some aroma, etc…)

Add sugar and eggs

Step 4: Cover the bowl with transparent paper and place it in the oven while it is heated to 140 degrees.

place it in the oven while it is heated to 140 degrees

Step 5: Remove the baking tray from the oven, place the baking paper and start making small balls with the dough already cold. The next step is to crush those little balls you’ve made with the help of a roller. And, from here, you can do two things: put them directly into the oven or, using molds with shapes, to give your biscuits shape you like the most. It may sound very sappy, but if you’ve used marijuana desserts before which make you happy, the evening can be very, very funny.

Step 6: Whether or not you have made shapes, place them in the oven for about 15 minutes. You’ll know they’re made because they start to brown. Don’t leave them much longer, because they can harden a lot.

✅ How to Make Marijuana Cookies Without Oven

Actually, the recipe for cannabis cookies with or without oven, is not very different, although the flavor or the final result is not the same, the truth is that they are just as good. However, since we like to be able to give you a lot of ideas, let’s go with a slightly different recipe for oatmeal and chocolate marijuana cookies, for which you’ll need:

  • One cup (it will serve as a meter)
  • One cup of sugar (white)
  • One cup of milk
  • One cup of cannabis butter
  • Four tablespoons of cocoa powder
  • Half cup of peanut butter cream
  • Three cups of instant oatmeal
  • One coffee spoon with vanilla or cinnamon extract.

Step 3: From the mixture we’ve made, we make balls to place them on a tray with baking paper, so that it does not stain, for later let them cool and harden until they are to our liking, and ready to eat.

Step 3b: The flavor of the cookies without baking does not appeal to everyone, so you always have the option of putting them in the microwave, about 5 minutes, at medium power (this will vary depending on each microwave) to have the texture more like traditional homemade cookies.

We allow the dough stand.

Step 4: In the meantime, take a baking tray, wrap it with baking paper and make balls with your hand or with the help of a soup spoon.

Step 5: When you are finished with the balls, place them in the oven for 10-15 minutes.

🎯 Things to consider before eating marijuana cookies

As you may know and as we have already mentioned in other recipes, smoking marijuana is not the same as eating it, so you should be much more cautious when using it. In the case of these cookies, and especially if you are not in the habit of eating them, we advise you not to eat more than 1 or 2 before you see the effect they will have on you. That the effect can take from 30 minutes to 2 hours, so even if you feel like another one, you’d better wait. We want you to have fun!

Of course, and although we hate to mention it, you also know that cannabis and alcohol are not best friends, so even if you’re laughing with your colleagues, as much, you may take a glass of wine or one beer. But It would be better to avoid it, though the risk you take, is only up to you. Our responsibility is to give you the best recommendations.

Cannabis Chocolate Chip Cookies

This page may contain affilliate links, view our full disclosure here.

This is the very best recipe for easy, simple, delicious Cannabis Chocolate Chip Cookies made using cannabis-infused coconut oil, cannabutter, or cannabis sugar. No fancy ingredients, just a crispy, chewy, soft, melt-in-your-mouth medicated cookie ready in just 30-minutes.

Cannabis Chocolate Chip Cookies

There is nothing better than biting into that first warm, gooey, perfectly crispy on the outside, doughy on the inside chocolate chip cookie – unless it’s a medicated cookie 😉

Now, it is true. You can use any traditional cookie recipe you have to make a cannabis-infused cookie. Simply swap the fat called for, like butter or oil, for cannabis butter or cannabis oil, and voila – you have an infused cookie!

But if you’re looking for THE perfect cannabis chocolate chip cookie recipe that has been made specifically with cannabis-infused butter or oil – this is it!

Cannabis-Infused Coconut Oil or CannaButter

You can’t make weed chocolate chip cookies without THE staple recipe important for every cannabis kitchen: cannabis-infused coconut oil or cannabutter.

Used interchangeably, infusing oil or butter with cannabis is an easy way to extract a broad-spectrum of compounds like CBD or THC)from the cannabis plant and get them into the food you are eating.

You will want to make sure you have this recipe prepared BEFORE diving into making your own cannabis-infused chocolate chip cookies, as the extraction process involves cannabis decarboxylation and takes approximately 4-hours.

Once you have your cannabis oil or butter ready, you can go ahead and prepare these chocolate chip cookies or use it in any other of our delicious cannabis-infused recipes like these mouthwatering cannabis peanut butter cookies and classic cannabis brownies.

Cookies Made With Cannabis Sugar

You can also make these cannabis chocolate chip cookies with cannabis-infused sugar if you have some on hand. It is entirely up to you whether or not you want to use infused oil or infused sugar.

Additionally, you could use both infused oil or butter and infused sugar together for an extra potent batch of medicated cookies.

Before Consuming Cannabis Edibles

Now, if you have never consumed cannabis edibles before, there are some important things I want you to know first. Friends don’t let friends jump into edibles without a little first-hand knowledge of what to expect!

Because it’s true, cannabis edibles CAN totally mess you up if you’re not prepared. Before jumping into eating an entire batch of weed cookies, I want you to remember:

Edibles Can Be Very Potent

Edibles become more potent when enzymes in the liver hydroxylate Δ9-THC to form 11-hydroxytetrahydrocannabinol (11-OH-THC), a potent psychoactive metabolite that readily crosses the blood-brain barrier and causes potential hallucinations!

Edibles Have A Delayed Onset

Edibles have an approximate delayed onset time of 30-minutes to several hours and can have a prolonged duration of effects lasting 6-12 hours, so don’t reach for that second helping so quickly.

When it comes to cannabis edibles, start low and go SLOW! Of course, your experience will be entirely dependent on your own Endocannabinoid system.

It’s Difficult To Know Final Potency of Homemade Edibles

It can be difficult to know what dose you’re starting with when consuming homemade edibles, so start small. There’s a reason they say “get ready for the ride” when you consume cannabis edibles.

Edibles can be a wonderful, fun, enjoyable ride when you go in prepared with a little bit of education and know what to expect!

Cannabis Chocolate Chip Cookies Diet Options

As a certified Holistic Cannabis Practitioner and registered dietitian nutritionist, I work with my students to use nutrition and cannabis to improve their health and wellness.

Many of my clients need to make some adjustments to create their own unique autoimmune diet, and that includes removing certain food groups at times.

Below you will find options for gluten-free, dairy-free, Paleo, and grain-free cookies, as well as cannabis cookies that can be made with CBD oil.

Gluten-Free Cannabis Chocolate Chip Cookies

Almost all of the recipes here on my blog and in my cookbooks are gluten-free, so I’ve had a lot of time experimenting with gluten-free flour alternatives.

Thankfully for the sake of baking, there are so many great gluten-free flour alternatives on the market today that swap pretty well for traditional all-purpose flour. You can easily grab a gluten-free all-purpose flour at most grocery stores.

This is the all-purpose gluten-free flour we recommend for gluten-free baking, you can easily order it online and have it delivered directly to your home.

Dairy-Free Cannabis Chocolate Chip Cookies

To make delicious dairy-free cannabis chocolate chip cookies you want to make sure you do two things:

  1. Use cannabis-infused coconut oil instead of cannabutter.
  2. Verify your chocolate chips are dairy-free.

This is the dairy-free chocolate chip brand we recommend for dairy-free baking, you can easily order them online or find in your local grocery store.

Paleo or Grain-Free Cannabis Chocolate Chip Cookies

Most of my cookbooks are not only gluten-free, but completely grain-free to be Paleo compliant as well. It it easy to make a grain-free cannabis chocolate chip cookie by swapping cassava flour for traditional all-purpose flour.

However, it is important to remember that if you are using cassava flour, you will need to add an extra egg (for a total of 2) to get the right consistency for the dough.

This is the grain-free cassava flour we recommend for grain-free baking, you can easily order them online or find in your local grocery store.

CBD Oil Chocolate Chip Cookies

Of course, it is not always easy to get your hands on cannabis flower to make your own infused coconut oil, which is why we wanted to offer a way to make this recipe with CBD oil or CBD concentrate.

For stronger cookies, we recommend using the CBD concentrate which packs in 500mg of CBD in just 1mL volume. Because this is such a small amount, you can use the recipe as is and just add this to the mixture when you add the eggs and vanilla.

For cookies that are not as strong, you can use a traditional CBD oil. Simply subtract the amount you are adding from the total fat content. For example, if you are adding 1 tablespoon of CBD oil, subtract 1 tablespoon of oil or butter from your total amount.

No fancy ingredients, just crispy, chewy, soft, melt-in-your-mouth Cannabis Chocolate Chip Cookies made using cannabis-infused coconut oil or cannabutter.
